Managing Customers
Managing your customers in EmbedMyReviews is very easy. In this guide we will go over how you can onboard customers onto the platform, how to manage access rights, free trials and more.
Self service registration
The platform supports self registration without the need for agencies to manually create customer accounts. To enable self registration follow the below steps:
- Go to agency settings
- Click on the configuration tab (if not already selected) in the left sidebar
- Enable the allow signups option
- Copy the registration URL underneath and either open a new browser or use incognito mode to view your registration page
In a new browser session you should see your registration page:
Note: You can replace the logo and set the default language by following our white label guide.
Creating Customers Manually
If you want to create customers manually via the dashboard then follow the below steps:
- Go to agency settings
- Click on customers in the left sidebar
- Click the create customer button
- Type in the name of the customer
- Type in the email of the customer
- Optionally enable the send invite option - this will send an email to your customer with login instructions
- Type in the name of the organization (i.e. business/company for the customer)
- Select the custom plan they should be subscribed to
- You can optionally disable login (if you are providing a fully managed service)
- Click create
Providing support/impersonating a customer
You can login (impersonate) any customers account via the customer management screen. Follow the below steps to get started:
- Go to agency settings
- Click on customers in the left sidebar
- Search for the customer by email or name
- Click login as customer
Note: You can also use CMD+K on mac or click the search icon in the top navigation to quickly search and login.
Extending/removing a customers free trial
You can extend the customers free trial by following the below steps:
- Go to agency settings
- Click on customers in the left sidebar
- Search for the customer by email or name and click edit
- Scroll to the free trial section (towards the bottom)
Resetting password via the agency dashboard
Though the platform supports self service password resets in some instances you may want to reset the password on behalf of the customer. To do this follow the below steps:
- Go to agency settings
- Click on customers in the left sidebar
- Search for the customer by email or name and click edit
- Click the red reset password button on the customer management screen
Overriding a customers plan options
If you need to provide a custom solution to your customers outside their existing plan you can override their default plans options by following the below steps:
- Go to agency settings
- Click on customers in the left sidebar
- Search for the customer by email or name and click edit
- Scroll to the plans options section
- Make your adjustments and click save
Multi-language self service registration
If you are selling the reputation management software in multiple languages you can use query parameters with alpha-2 language code for example:
For French customers your URL would be like so: app.your-white-label-domain.com/register?lang=fr when visiting the URL your customers will see the French version of the registration page:
